Planet Mars – Completion and New Beginnings, online

Join us for an online session dedicated to the qualities of the planet Mars, featuring insights from Vedic astrology with Sara, as well as mantra chanting, yantra drawing, and painting with Nadeshda.

In Vedic astrology (Jyotiṣa), 2025 is considered a Mars year – a collective energy guided by the planet associated with the number 9 (2+0+2+5). The number 9 represents completion, paving the way for a new beginning in 2026. In Vedic numerology, 9 is also the psychic number of those born on the 9th, 18th, or 27th of any month. Mars’ influence is strongest on Tuesdays, which is why we have chosen this day for our session.

Planet Mars – The Hero’s Journey

At its core, Maṅgala (Mars in Sanskrit) ignites the Hero’s journey toward self-realization and connection with the Divine. As the son of the Earth, he stands as her protector, defending her against the challenges she faces. Hanuman, the monkey god, is said to be the deity of the planet Mars, embodying its highest qualities of strength, willpower, and disciplined action.

Mars is the guardian of society, closely linked to Skanda, the second son of Śiva, and to Hanumān, the heroic devotee from the Rāmāyaṇa, who teaches us the power of selfless devotion on the path to liberation. As the commander of the celestial assembly – where each deity represents a facet of the same divinity – Mars embodies the qualities of purpose, duty, order, discipline, courage, bravery, patience, and self-confidence.

Mars represents energy, action, fire, and willpower, moving with great speed and intensity. When strong and balanced, this energy fuels determination and righteous action. However, when weak or afflicted, Mars’ lower energy can manifest as aggression, impulsiveness, and destruction – seen in wars, fires, accidents, violence, and conflicts. Physiologically, Mars governs the blood, muscular system, bone marrow, nervous system, and the fire element within us. During a Mars year, this heightened energy can be overwhelming, requiring conscious effort to channel it constructively.

Planet Mars Yantra and Mantra

Yantras are sacred tantric diagrams, often seen as the materialized vibration of a mantra. Traditionally, they are practiced in combination with their respective mantra, as these sound vibrations are believed to heal, harmonize, and awaken the body on a subtle level. Mantras resonate with one’s physio-mental system, serving as a powerful vehicle for activating deeper inner forces and guiding individuals on the path to self-realization.

During this three-hour online sadhana, we will create the Mars Yantra by drawing it and charging it through mantra chanting, allowing us to connect with, balance, and support our personal Mars energy. You will also receive guidance on colours and painting techniques to complete your yantra in your own time.

Drawing and painting the Mars Yantra is suitable for anyone drawn to it – particularly those born on a number 9 day or those seeking to harmonize and strengthen Mars-related qualities within themselves. When placed in a chosen space, the yantra can stimulate courage, discipline, and self-confidence, as well as support emotional resilience and inner strength for both the observer and the surrounding environment.

We will connect with the Planet Mars on Tuesday the 29th April 2025.
The session will take place from 7pm until 10pm (CET), on zoom. It will not be recorded.

No previous knowledge or experience of drawing and painting is necessary. A list of materials needed will be emailed after booking

The session is by donation. Suggested range EUR 30 to EUR 60. We will send you payment details when we receive your booking. If the minimum amount is beyond your current means, then please give what is manageable for you.
