Hanuman Retreat – The Hero’s Journey

Join us for a 6-day-long immersive retreat dedicated to Hanuman – the fearless hero. In the serene landscapes of Tuscany, we will explore his aspects, energy and transformative power through creating, chanting, practicing and sharing this special time together.

The retreat is led by Nadeshda (Antarshuddhi) with the support of Premarpan.

Hanuman – Willpower, Devotion and Transformation

Hanuman is one of the most beloved aspects of the Divine in India. Known as the son of the Wind, he is also revered as the monkey god – symbolizing that anyone, regardless of background, can reach the Divine. Stories of his life are found in the great epics, including the Ramayana, Mahabharata, the Puranas, and other scriptures. Hanuman’s journey is the ultimate Hero’s Journey – one of strength, devotion, and self-discovery. Born with immense power yet unaware of it, Hanuman embarks on a path of awakening, courage, and unwavering faith.

As the son of the Wind, Hanuman is the patron of pranayama (breath control). As the devoted servant of Rama, he embodies the perfect balance of bhakti – faith, devotion, love, humility, commitment, and selfless service – and shakti – physical and mental strength, healing power, unshakeable will, and determination. Hanuman is also revered as a healer of diseases, pains, and sorrows.

He is the patron deity of martial arts, meditation, and scholarly pursuits, as well as heart-centered practices like kirtan and karma yoga, which cultivate devotion, surrender, and selfless action.

Hanuman and Mars – Completion and New Beginnings

Hanuman is said to be the deity of the planet Mars (Maṅgala), embodying its highest qualities of strength, willpower, and disciplined action. In Vedic astrology (Jyotiṣa), 2025 is a Mars year, carrying the transformative energy of the number 9 (2+0+2+5) – a number symbolizing completion and new beginnings. This powerful alignment makes Hanuman the perfect focus for this year’s retreat, guiding us to harness resilience, courage, and devotion as we step into a new cycle.

Yantra and Mantra – Pathways to Inner Transformation

A yantra is a sacred geometric form, representing the manifested energy of a mantra. Together, they form a powerful sadhana (spiritual practice), where the mantra embodies the essence, and the yantra serves as its physical vessel. Through drawing, painting, and chanting, we bridge the microcosm and macrocosm, aligning our inner world with the universal. Just as Hanuman’s devotion to Rama reflects the union of the individual soul and divine grace, yantra and mantra guide us to expand our consciousness, focus the mind, awaken creative power, and support our spiritual journey of transformation.
